The presidential decree establishing Beni Suef Technological University was published in the Official Gazette on June 3, 2019, in accordance with Law No. 72 of 2019 on the establishment of technological universities. This step represents an important milestone in creating a new path for technical education in Egypt.

Technological universities serve as an extension of the technical education track, aiming to equip students with practical and scientific skills to meet the requirements of the local and international labor market. This is achieved through technological programs implemented in the university’s faculties, which are designed based on the needs of national projects and the geographical location of the universities.

    University Objectives

▪️ Establish a new integrated pathway for applied and technological education and training parallel to the academic track, where graduates can obtain degrees at the diploma, bachelor’s, and postgraduate levels.

▪️ Apply and utilize technology for the benefit of society and prepare graduates from general and technical secondary education to meet labor market needs with the necessary human and technological resources, supporting the country’s social and economic development plans, while improving the societal perception of this type of education.

▪️ Provide technological education offering comprehensive educational and training services with quality standards comparable to international quality systems, enabling graduates to compete in local, regional, and global labor markets.

▪️ Prepare technologists capable of continuing their education, flexibly switching between sub-specialties, joining the workforce, and returning to study after receiving appropriate training and practical experience, in line with the national qualifications’ framework.

 International Cooperation between Beni Suef Technological University and South Korea 🇰🇷🇪🇬

The international cooperation between the university and South Korea includes the following:

▪️ A signed agreement between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) to fund the university with $5.8 million, covering the supply of advanced laboratory equipment, machinery, and the furnishing of laboratories.

▪️ New Active Grant valued at $8 million from the Korean side to support the university starting in the 2024/2025 academic year. This grant includes support for the laboratories of the Mechatronics and Information Technology programs, as well as providing the necessary support for the Autotronics program through educational equipment, curriculum and practical guide development, technical training, sending Korean experts to the university, and establishing a car training and service center. The grant also includes the establishment of a new program in Railway Technology, and achieving international quality and accreditation for various university programs.

▪️ International Accreditation (2022–2028): The Accreditation Board for Engineering Education of Korea (ABEEK), responsible for quality assurance and accreditation of engineering programs in South Korea, granted accreditation to the university’s programs, including the Mechatronics Program and the ICT Program, for six years from 2022 to 2028. Beni Suef Technological University thus becomes the first technological university in Egypt and the region to receive this type of international accreditation from South Korea, marking a first-of-its-kind achievement among technological universities in Egypt and the Arab world.

🔹 The Egyptian Korean College of Industrial and Energy Technology accepts:

  1. Egyptian students who have completed technical secondary education (3-year or 5-year systems) or equivalent technical certificates.

  2. Students who have completed general secondary education or equivalent certificates, including international students.

  3. Students who have completed technical institutes (2-year post-secondary system) or equivalent.

  4. Students who hold a professional diploma.

Admission is conducted through the Coordination Office or the General Administration for International Students, according to the admission criteria set by the Supreme Council of Universities.

🔹 Education at Beni Suef Technological University focuses on practical training, with field applications and skills acquisition representing at least 60% of the study program. Students are trained in laboratories equipped with the latest technological devices according to global technological education standards.
