According to Article (7) of the Executive Regulations governing technological colleges affiliated with the Ministry of Higher Education (Ministerial Decree No. 2655, dated 10 October 2006), the Supreme Council for Technological Colleges is entrusted with the following mandates:

Formulating the general policy for education and training in technological colleges in light of societal needs.

Meeting the requirements of various state sectors for graduates of technical and vocational education.

Advancing the standards of technical and vocational education and ensuring quality assurance within colleges.

Securing and mobilizing funding resources necessary for achieving the objectives of the colleges.

Approving the recommendations of the Boards of Trustees of technological colleges.

Establishing the general policy governing textbooks and instructional materials, and setting the relevant regulatory frameworks.

Defining the general guidelines governing professional relations and the distribution of duties among faculty members in technological colleges.

Determining admission regulations and the annual intake capacity based on proposals submitted by each college.

Forming a technical committee to coordinate between corresponding institutes and departments within technological colleges.

Approving the internal bylaws and regulations of technological colleges.

Reviewing and approving the annual report prepared by the Head of the Education Sector at the conclusion of each academic year regarding technical education in technological colleges, as well as reports submitted by college directors.

Examining matters referred to the Council by the Minister of Higher Education.
