Vision, Mission, and Objectives of the Student Activities Unit

Vision

To advance the college through excellence in diverse student activities, enabling it to achieve a leading position among colleges at other universities.

Mission

To develop students’ skills through participation in a variety of student activities that instill ethical values and positive concepts, helping them perform effectively in their professional and practical lives.

Objectives

To contribute to the comprehensive preparation of students culturally, socially, and academically, while strengthening positive social values among them.

Objectives of the Student Activities Unit

Student activities are among the most important means of achieving educational goals. They aim to build a well-rounded student personality that values dialogue and communication, characterized by moderation and balance. These activities also help develop students’ abilities and encourage creativity and innovation.

The main objectives of the Student Activities Unit include:

  1. Strengthening students’ sense of belonging to their nation and homeland, while helping them gain broad human knowledge across various fields.

  2. Promoting positive social values and translating them into students’ actions and behavior.

  3. Instilling noble values derived from religious principles that encourage love of the homeland, loyalty, and responsibility toward it.

  4. Developing students’ personalities through diverse sources of knowledge and culture within the framework of ethical and cultural values.

  5. Contributing to the comprehensive development of youth spiritually, academically, intellectually, and physically, while enhancing their self-confidence to serve their country and community.

  6. Encouraging students to make productive use of their free time by developing and refining their talents, directing them positively, and training them in active intellectual participation.

  7. Preparing capable student leaders in various fields of activities.

  8. Promoting tolerance, moderation, constructive dialogue, and acceptance of differing opinions.

  9. Strengthening cooperation and interaction between students and faculty members.

  10. Encouraging youth engagement with society.

  11. Promoting creativity and innovation among students.

  12. Keeping pace with technological developments and modern information-gathering methods.

  13. Spreading awareness among youth in various aspects of life in alignment with ethical and moral values.

 

Organizational Responsibilities of the Student Activities Unit

  1. Supervising various student activities.

  2. Planning central activities and monitoring their implementation at the college level.

  3. Developing regulations, systems, and general plans for student activities.

  4. Monitoring and evaluating student activity programs within the college.

  5. Proposing the budget for student activities and allocating its items.

Responsibilities of the General Student Activities Committee

  1. Providing overall supervision of student activities in the college.

  2. Approving activity programs and plans proposed by the activity committees.

  3. Ratifying the formation of activity committees.

  4. Forming supporting subcommittees such as the Media Committee and Organization Committee.

  5. Supporting activities both morally and financially.

  6. Approving the budget of the General Committee.

  7. Funding activities based on the committee’s recommendations and reallocating budget items when necessary.

  8. Monitoring the implementation of activity committee programs.

  9. Preparing final activity reports.

 

Responsibilities of Student Activities Unit Committees

  1. Recruiting new students to participate in the committee.

  2. Preparing an annual activity plan and submitting it to the General Activities Committee.

  3. Proposing the committee’s budget in accordance with relevant regulations and policies.

  4. Implementing the approved plan and distributing responsibilities among committee members.

  5. Documenting committee activities and preparing periodic and final reports.

Student Activities Unit Committees

The Student Activities Unit includes the following committees:

  1. Cultural Committee

The Cultural Committee aims to organize cultural activities that help students understand the characteristics and needs of their society, while developing their literary and cultural abilities.

Cultural activities aim to:

  1. Develop students’ literary, intellectual, and cultural talents.

  2. Foster responsible citizens who understand their communities.

  3. Introduce youth to social issues through cultural competitions and seminars.

  4. Promote sound cultural and ethical awareness through lectures and competitions.

  5. Strengthen students’ sense of loyalty and commitment to their country through participatory and democratic practices.

  1. Arts Committee

The Arts Committee aims to develop students’ artistic activities and provide opportunities to showcase their artistic talents and productions. Art reflects the progress and cultural advancement of societies and expresses their human and aesthetic values.

The committee organizes the following competitions:

  1. Theatre Arts Competition

  2. Folk Arts Competition

  3. Scientific Exhibitions

  4. Fine Arts Competition

  5. Variety Arts Competition

  6. Music and Choir Competition

  1. Sports Committee

The Sports Committee aims to promote sportsmanship among students, encourage athletic talent, and organize sports activities. This includes forming sports teams and organizing matches, tournaments, and sports festivals.

  1. Social and Trips Committee

This committee aims to strengthen social relationships among students and between students and faculty, and to promote a spirit of cooperation through various activities.

It organizes social, cultural, and recreational trips and camps that help develop students’ hobbies. Its objectives also include:

  1. Helping members take responsibility toward their community.

  2. Supporting the development of students’ individual skills.

  3. Organizing recreational trips across different regions of the country.

  4. Studying negative social phenomena and proposing solutions to address them.
