Dr. Syed Abdel Qader, President of Bani-Swief Technological University, received in his office, Ambassador Sergey Tirtentiev, Ambassador of the State of Belarus in Egypt at the head of a delegation from the Belarusian embassy during his first visit to the University to discuss ways of a joint cooperation, in the presence of Dr. Mayada Belal, Head of the Central Administration for Cultural Relations at the Ministry of Higher Education, Dr. Mohamed Kayed, Dean of the Egyptian-Korean Faculty of Technological Industry and Energy, and department heads and coordinators, to discuss means of a joint cooperation in the fields of technological education and industry.
During his visit to the university, the Belarusian ambassador and his accompanying delegation watched a presentation about Bani-Swief Technological University and listened to a detailed explanation from some of the university students introducing the study programs and their experience within the university as well as their aspirations in their practical life after graduation. The performance of the students was recognized by its excellence and professionalism during the presentation, especially as the students presented themselves and their ideas in English.
During the university inspection tour, the university president explained to the Belarusian ambassador that Bani-Swief Technological University has what qualifies it to be one of the most important technological universities in Egypt and the Middle East for the diversity of its scientific programs that serve the labor market in addition to its laboratories which are equipped with the latest modern technological equipment and devices. The university also has an international partnerships with international universities such as Korea University of Technology and Education (Korea Tech), in addition to relationships and partnerships with local, regional and international industrial institutions.
Abdel-Qader expressed his aspiration to strengthen the cooperation with Belarus and to benefit from some of the expertise it has in the field of manufacturing as well as information technology and modernization of some industries and training, as the development and modernization of the Egyptian industry is a priority for the government during the current period, under the great focus and interest in this file from President El-Sisi.
The university president stressed that he is looking forward to exchange visits between Bani-Swief Technological University and Belarusian universities, especially for the faculty members and students, to gain and exchange experiences, noting that openness to world cultures is one of the paths of cooperation with Belarus, as the cultures of Europe constitute a civilizational axis in global history.
At the end of the meeting, Dr. Syed Abdel Qader presented the University’s shield to the Belarusian ambassador in appreciation of his visit. The ambassador also thanked the president of the university, stressing that there would be a fruitful cooperation between the embassy and Bani-Swief Technological University, and expressed his thanks to the university president for the good reception. He also expressed his admiration for Bani-Swief Technological University and the diversity of its programs, stressing that he is looking forward to a joint cooperation with Bani-Swief Technological University in various fields.
