Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, reviewed a report on the meeting of the Supreme Council for Technological Education presented by Dr. Ayman Ashour, Deputy Minister for University Affairs. That was in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Latif, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities, Dr. Ahmed Al-Hewy, Advisor to the Minister for Technical Education and General Secretary of the Education Development Fund, and members of the Council.
The report indicated that the executive regulations of establishing technological universities law has been finalized, in preparation for the issuance of the republican decision for them.
The report also indicated that coordination is underway with the heads of the technological universities (New Cairo Technological University, Delta Technological University, Bani Swief Technological University) to organize field visits to the three technological universities during December 2021 and January 2022.
The council noted the need to develop a map for the new technological universities in line with the priorities of the country’s sustainable development plan, and the new specializations and programs required by the labor market and industry at the local or international levels.
The Council reviewed the executive situation of the new technological universities, which are: Tanta Technological University, 6th of October Technological University, Burj Al Arab Technological University, Al Salam Port Said Technological University, Assiut Technological University, and Tiba Technological University.
The Council approved the proposal to form the two university councils for: Delta Technological University and Bani Swief Technological University for a period of two years, in accordance with legal rules and procedures.
The council also agreed to form a committee to include the Integrated Technical Education Cluster at Fayoum to Bani Swief Technological University, through cooperation and coordination between the Ministry of Higher Education and the Education Development Fund, which comes within the framework of the University’s expansions.
The report added that a number of issues related to the faculty members and staff of the technological universities were discussed.
