Dr. Mohamed Hani Ghoneim, Governor of Beni Suef, held a meeting with Prof. Dr. Mohamed Shoukr Nada, President of Bani Swief Technological University, to discuss ways of cooperation between the governorate and the University in implementing the governorate’s local development strategy which includes 6 economic sectors. The most prominent of which, is the development of the communications technology sector.
During the meeting, it was discussed how to maximize the benefit in the field of serving people with special needs, especially with the development of a Prosthetics and Orthotics Technological program at Bani Swief Technological University this year, as a new technological field that meets the labor market needs of qualified technologists in the medical field to serve patients through the designing and creation of prosthetic limbs for those who have suffered from amputation of a limb or who were born without it. In addition to evaluating, designing and creating orthotics to improve health and comfort. This program comes along with the other academic programs in the faculty which are (Mechatronics – Information and Communication Technology – Autotronics – New and Renewable Energy) and the presence of a group of selected faculty members and teaching assistants with various industrial, technological, medical and engineering backgrounds and experiences.
The meeting also discussed cooperation in supporting the governorate’s plan in the field of entrepreneurship and encouraging the youth’s orientation towards self-employment, especially in the productive fields. Dr. Mohamed Hani Ghonim, Governor of Beni Suef, stressed the importance of the State’s national project in the field of technological education through the establishment of world-class universities specialized in the field; as directed by President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, as part of the 2030 Development Vision which contains ambitious plans for a qualitative leap in all aspects, especially since this type supports Egyptian labor opportunities in obtaining job opportunities in the local and global labor market, in addition to providing the integrated and distinctive elements that will represent the estate’s efforts in completing the construction and comprehensive development efforts, stressing that the state’s plan to open 25 technological universities is an ambitious and distinctive plan, and is a fruitful and qualitative result in the field of the Egyptian-Korean cooperation.
The governor indicated that establishment of a technological university in the governorate within the 3 universities that were opened at the level of the republic is an affirmation of the political leadership’s directives to develop Upper Egypt. That will support the governorate’s capabilities, as it added a competitive advantage to the governorate to maximize other comparative advantages, especially in the fields of investment, industry, agro-industry, information technology, tourism and other sectors and fields in which the governorate has promising opportunities.
Dr. Nada indicated that the University works to discuss cooperation with many Egyptian and foreign authorities, institutions and universities to develop technological programs that serve the local, regional and international labor market. He stressed that the University has signed many protocols and partnerships with a number of industrial and educational authorities and institutions inside and outside the governorate, including: ( The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), the Arab Organization for Industrialization, the Education Development Fund represented by the Integrated Technical Education Cluster at Al-Fayoum, Samsung International Company, Elsewedy Corporation, Electronics Research Institute, the Egyptian Space Agency, Beni Suef University, in addition to holding an agreement to establish an Entrepreneurship Club).
Dr. Nada thanked Dr. Mohamed Hani Ghoneim, Governor of Beni Suef, for his confidence in the University, stressing the continuous cooperation with the governorate to serve the country and the citizens in many fields to ensure the achievement of the sustainable development and Egypt’s Vision 2030.
