Under the auspices of Dr. Jan-Henri Hanna, President of Beni Suef Technological University, the Committee for Equal Opportunities and Anti- Discrimination against Women organized an educational and awareness visit for the children of university employees and a number of students to the Beni Suef Drinking Water and Sanitation Company, within the framework of the university’s effective role in community participation and cooperation with state institutions in various fields for community development.

During the visit, the mechanism for collecting water samples at each stage and the most important problems facing purification operations were presented. The importance of proper purification of drinking water for obtaining a clean cup of water and immediate action upon arrival of any complaint of water pollution were reviewed. Children and students were also introduced to the importance of water conservation and rationalization. And the use of water supplies supplied by institutions, government institutions  and private homes in order to reduce the rate of loss and provide it to the  areas most in need.

Dr. Jan-Henry stressed that this visit comes as an activation of the university’s awareness plan to enhance the capacities and develop the skills of children and students, and to raise awareness of the state’s efforts implemented in many development projects, especially drinking water and sanitation projects, and how to preserve them.
