Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Mahmoud Khedr, the President of Beni-Suef Technological University, the University-Industry Collaboration Center (UICC) led by Dr. Ghada Tawson, the center’s director, and the head of the training department at the university, organized a workshop on First Aid in collaboration with the Rotary Club. The workshop featured Dr. Moustafa Tharwat, a specialist in sports injuries.
The workshop covered the concept of First Aid, highlighting its importance and emphasizing that spreading this culture among university students can help save many lives. The first few minutes after an injury are the most critical, and administering First Aid promptly can be crucial in saving a patient’s life.
The workshop also discussed the main objectives of First Aid, defining the rescuer and their qualifications. It prioritized providing First Aid, familiarizing participants with the contents of a First Aid kit, different types of injuries, and how to handle them. Participants learned about First Aid techniques in cases of choking, bleeding, fractures, burns, poisoning, seizure, diabetic coma, and more.
