Under the patronage of Dr. Jean-Henry Hanna, President of Beni Suef Technological University, the university hosted an introductory seminar for the Decent Life Foundation to spread the culture of volunteer work, introduce the Foundation’s activities in various governorates, develop students’ awareness of the size of the achievements and the state’s development efforts, and involve them in the work carried out by the initiative, to promote the concepts of citizenship, loyalty and belonging.
The seminar was attended by Colonel Medhat Zakaria, Director General of the Decent Life Foundation Office in Beni Suef, Dr. Mohamed Ali Gabr, Coordinator of Decent Life in Beni Suef, and Mr. Mohamed Sayed Al-Masry, Deputy General Coordinator of the Foundation, with the participation of a number of volunteers and university students.
The seminar included introducing the Decent Life Foundation, and the comprehensive development it provides in all axes to raise the social, economic and environmental level within the most needy areas. In addition to reviewing the activities carried out by the Foundation in Beni Suef Governorate and the projects that have been applied on the ground, as well as encouraging students to volunteer in the Foundation, and raising awareness of the need for concerted efforts of young volunteers, to promote the revival of students’ social responsibility in all aspects.
For his part, the President of the University praised the role of the Decent Life Foundation, to improve the lives of citizens, and the humanitarian services, infrastructure and national projects it provides that benefit the people, villages and places included in the initiative, stressing that Egypt is witnessing a major renaissance in all development and service sectors.It is worth mentioning that Decent Life Foundation has launched a series of awareness seminars among university students, in order to spread the culture of volunteer work among university youth. In addition to organizing field visits to the projects that are being implemented in various villages and centers of the Republic, and giving them an opportunity to volunteer and participate in public work to benefit from their enthusiastic energy.
This comes from the belief of Decent Life Foundation in its societal role in promoting the values of development and volunteer work and spreading the culture of community and volunteer work, among university youth through the national project Decent Life, the largest development project in the history of Egypt. Which aims to make a radical change in the lives of the most needy citizens and provide them with comprehensive sustainable development.
