Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Shoukr Nada, President of Bani Swief Technological University, in cooperation with the Academy of Scientific Research, and in the presence of the workshop guests, Prof. Dr. Amr Farouk, Assistant President of the Academy of Scientific Research, Dr. Youssef Al-Wardani, Assistant Minister of Youth and Sports, and Dr. Wafaa Abdel-Rasheed, General Supervisor of TICO offices and Entrepreneurship Clubs, and Prof. Dr. Amr Soliman, Professor of Economics at Helwan University, Bani Swief Technological University organized a virtual (online) workshop as one of the activities of the Entrepreneurship Club Office at the University entitled “Developing Technological Education Between Entrepreneurship and Business Management”.

During his speech, the University President thanked the participants and attendees, and stressed the political leadership’s belief in developing technical and technological education and creating a new path for technological education in accordance with Egypt’s vision 2030 and the state’s interest in developing the country by its youth. He also explained that the university is making great strides with the participation of the faculty members, staff and students towards achieving its desired goals and objectives, and in pursuit of a distinguished and prestigious position among technological universities through providing its students with education, experience, training, dissemination of knowledge, promoting the culture of research and encouraging innovation and scientific excellence.

The University President stressed that the Entrepreneurship Club aims to build an entrepreneurship culture and develop the capabilities of the future entrepreneurs to enable them to successfully establish and manage small enterprises, enhance the entrepreneurial capabilities of students of different educational levels to find pioneering ideas for future projects, motivate innovators and inventors and invest in their innovations to turn them into economical products and launch companies based on locally developed technologies.

Dr. Wafaa Abdel-Rasheed, General Supervisor of the TICO Offices and Entrepreneurship Clubs, explained the role of the innovation support project through activating the role of scientific research, linking it to industry, and activating and supporting the universities’ role in developing technology. She also thanked Bani Swief Technological University for its interest in entrepreneurship.

During his speech, Dr. Youssef Al-Wardani, Assistant Minister of Youth and Sports, stressed the state and the political leadership’s interest in technical education and expressed his happiness with the establishment of an Entrepreneurship Club Office at Bani Swief Technological University. He also stressed that the ministry provides its services through concluding protocols with various bodies and institutions, expressing his aspiration for further cooperation with the Bani Swief Technological University to improve students’ performance, enhance their skills in the labor market and present successful experiences.

Dr. Amr Farouk, Assistant President of the Academy of Scientific Research, thanked Dr. Nada for his efforts at Bani Swief Technological University, which is the first technological university to win a grant from the Academy of Scientific Research to establish an entrepreneurship club. He also presented the academy’s vision in the field of entrepreneurship.

Dr. Amr Farouk confirmed that the Academy of Scientific Research is the largest funder of graduation projects for the faculties of Engineering and Fine and Applied Arts, in addition to its support for graduation projects in technical education and for technological marketing and others.

During his speech, Dr. Amr Soliman, Professor of Economics at Helwan University, thanked Dr. Nada and Bani Swief Technological University for their interest in entrepreneurship, stressing that entrepreneurship is one of the competencies of lifelong learning. He also discussed the concept of entrepreneurship and its role in shaping the youth’s culture.

The Entrepreneurship Club aims to support economic, social and human development through providing technical consultation, designing, implementing and managing development and innovation programs and initiatives aimed at spreading a culture of entrepreneurship and sound scientific thinking as a way of solving societal problems at the village, neighborhood, city, governorate, and state levels.

The club also aims to encourage the youth to set up their own small and micro projects, help young people and youth know about the importance of entrepreneurship and innovation, raise their awareness of financial inclusion, and start their own ideas that aim at solving some of the community’s problems through building partnerships and managing development programs.
