Prof. Dr. Mohamed Shoukr Nada, President of Bani Swief Technological University, received another team of Korean experts to train faculty members and teaching assistants on entrepreneurship mechanisms and link the University with industry. During the meeting, the Korean delegation presented a copy of the training manual to the University. After the meeting, Dr. Nada participated in the first day of the training in the University.
The University President also received a delegation of Korean experts to complete the training of faculty members and teaching assistants on the use of modern technological methods in teaching methods, prepare study programs and develop the educational process at the University to obtain accreditation from ABEEK, which is responsible for quality assurance and accreditation for technological and engineering programs in South Korea. That comes within the framework of the strategic direction of the Ministry of Higher Education and scientific research towards improving the quality of the educational system in line with global systems and improving the competitiveness of teaching and learning systems and outcomes, and in light of the existing cooperation through the signed agreement between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and South Korea to support Bani Swief Technological University technically and educationally.
Dr. Nada stressed that the quality standards include several key areas which are: leadership and continuous development, resource development, student support and participation, educational programs and program design, evaluation of learning and teaching outcomes, training and evaluation, community participation and environmental development. The University President also stressed the University’s efforts to advance, enhance its educational and research role, reach a leading position in the field of technological education through fruitful cooperation with the Korean partners, and support the fields of modern technology and digital transformation in accordance with the international foundations in technological education.
It is should be noted that the cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) includes the presence of experts for technical support from Korea University of Technology and Education (Korea Tech), and that the University is preparing for a visit of a specialized team from ABEEK, which is responsible for quality assurance and accreditation for technological and engineering programs in South Korea, within the framework of program accreditation procedures which have already been submitted to the Foundation.
The University is currently discussing with the Korean side the possibility of obtaining a new grant of up to $8 million for a period of four years after the ending of the current grant. It includes the possibility of establishing a service advisory educational training center for technical education, as well as creating two new technological programs, one for railway technology and the other for electronics technology and control, in addition to developing the current study programs and discussing the University’s obtaining international accreditation and quality as well as training faculty members and workers according to the global foundations of technological education.
