Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdul Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and in the presence of the guests of honor of the conference Prof. Dr. Mohammed Ayman Ashour, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for University Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Hossni Al-Hewy, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Technical Education and Secretary General of the Education Development Fund of the Cabinet of Ministers, and Mr. Oh Yeon Keum, Country Director of the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Bani Swief Technological University today launched its first international conference entitled “Development of Technological Education Around the World: Experiences and Challenges”. The conference is held virtually (online), on the 24th – 25th of July 2021 with the participation of 37 speakers from 17 countries around the world. The conference deals with the following themes:

During his speech, Prof. Dr. Ayman Ashour, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for University Affairs, conveyed the greetings of Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdul Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, to the attendees and organizers of the conference, expressing his gratitude for participating in this conference to develop technological education.
Ashour spoke about the importance of establishing an enormous model of technological education represented by the establishment of technological universities, noting that 27 technological universities are targeted to be established by 2030.
Ashour assured that these universities will help graduates meet the challenges of the labor market because they will be a unique model of education in society.
Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Hewy, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Technical Education and Secretary General of the Education Development Fund of the Cabinet of Ministers, expressed his gratitude to Bani Swief Technological University for organizing this conference.
Al-Hewy said the higher education plan is to improve the technical education system and establish technological universities to meet the needs of the labor market and the need for technical education students to improve their education level.
Al-Hewy affirmed that the establishment of three technological universities and the establishment of six more universities will help graduates to face the challenges of the labor market.
While Mr. Oh Yeon-kyeom, Country Director of the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), expressed his appreciation to Bani Swief Technological University and KOICA’s happiness to be a part of this work, stressing the importance of developing technological education in Egypt through the development of the curriculum, lectures and activities offered by the university to students to develop their performance. He also expressed his hope for the relationship between Bani Swief Technological University and KOICA to continue.
Prof. Dr. Mohamed Shoukr Nada, President of Bani Swief Technological University and President of the Conference, greeted and welcomed the participants and guests, expressing his gratitude to the political leadership for the generous interest in technological education, and thanking Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, for being the conference’s patronage and for his excellency’s continuous support for the University. He also thanked Prof. Dr. Ayman Ashour, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Hewy and Mr. Oh Yeon-kyeom for honoring the conference as guests and for their constructive cooperation.
Prof. Dr. Nada also spoke about the cooperation protocols between the University and many institutions, entities, and companies such as KOICA, the Education Development Fund and Samsung, stressing that the University seeks to strengthen partnerships and cooperation with many other countries such as Germany and Belarus, and to benefit from the grants provided by the various entities to develop skills.
During his speech, the University President explained that this conference happens in accordance with the graduation of the first batch after two years of study in the 2+2 system at the University, indicating the reasons for choosing to establish the first Technological University in Bani Swief Governorate, which includes the importance of the governorate’s location and its distinctive characteristics.
At the end of his speech, the University President expressed his greetings to the conference organizing team and the effort made to bring the conference out in this honorable way as the first conference of the University since its establishment.
