Under the patronage of Dr. Jean-Henry Hanna, President of Beni Suef University of Technology, the university, in cooperation with the Egyptian Scientific Society for Prosthetics and Prosthetic Devices, organized a scientific day under the title “The latest modern technologies in the field of prosthetics and orthotics”.
The scientific event aims to exchange experiences and learn about all that is new in the field of people with disabilities, in implementation of the directives of the political leadership and the vision of the Egyptian state to improve the rehabilitative medical service provided to people with disabilities, integrate them into society and provide them with full support.
Dr. Ali Abdel Tawab, Dean of the Egyptian-Korean College of Industry and Energy Technology, and a human doctor brigade, attended the events. Hisham Al-Salami Advisor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in the Armed Forces, Advisor to the Supreme Medical Committee of the Council of Ministers, Member of the International Society of Prosthetics and Orthotics, Dr. Ahmed Abdel Moneim, coordinator of the Prosthetics and Orthotics Program at Beni Suef Technological University. Ayman Amer, President of the Egyptian Scientific Society for Prosthetics and Prosthetic Devices.
On the sidelines of the scientific day, a workshop was held under the title of prosthetics for cases of amputation below the knee.
It is noteworthy that the Prosthetics and Orthotics Technology Program at Beni Suef Technological University is one of the first bachelor’s programs in the field of prosthetics and orthotics in Egypt and Africa. The vision of the program is to provide advanced educational and technological services at a distinguished level that meets and keeps pace with the needs of the labor market and society in the field of prosthetics and orthotics. Its mission is to meet the needs of the local, regional and international labor market of qualified technologists to achieve competitive advantage within the framework of high professional ethics.
