Under the patronage of Dr. Jan Henri Hanna, President of Beni Suef Technological University, the university’s students participated in the Egypt Energy Exhibition 2023, in conjunction with the Fairex Egypt Exhibition, the leading event in the field of energy in North Africa, under the sponsorship of the Egyptian Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy, and the Ministry of Environment, supported by the Ministry of Military Production.
The exhibition activities were opened by Dr. Ahmed Mahina, Head of the Strategic Planning and International Cooperation Sector at the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Ambassador Hisham Badr, Assistant Minister for Strategic Partnerships, Excellence and Initiatives, Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, and Rama Homsi, Director of the Egypt Energy Exhibition and Fairex Egypt Exhibition.
The first day of the exhibition focused on three main topics including clean energy, carbon neutrality initiatives, and green hydrogen, as the speakers have discussed Egypt’s direction towards clean energy strategy, its commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, and the challenges and opportunities to meet global demand for green hydrogen and ammonia. The discussions also shed light on Egypt’s commitment to a clean and sustainable energy future.
During a discussion session on Egypt’s progress in the energy transition process, Dr. Ayman Hamza, official spokesperson for the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy, held a discussion, which highlighted government initiatives that invest in projects focused on energy efficiency, alternative renewable energy, and encouraging the private sector to invest in renewable energy projects.
Attracting more than 11,000 energy and fire safety professionals from more than 90 countries, the three-day event involved more than 200 exhibitors showcasing the latest technologies and solutions in renewable energy, energy efficiency, transmission, generation and distribution of power and smart solutions.
It is worth noting that the exhibition activities continued for 3 days with a major media partnership from the specialized energy platform. The exhibition, which was held with the participation of 150 companies, aims to accelerate the energy transformation process in Egypt and North African countries, highlighting smart solutions, solar energy, and green hydrogen.
Last year, the Egypt Energy Exhibition succeeded in achieving export deals of about $500,000 between Egyptian companies and their African counterparts, amid expectations of an increase in the value of deals this year.
