Dr. Mohamed Mahmoud Khadr, President of Beni Suef Technological University, chaired the
monthly meeting of the Committee for Equal Opportunities, Combating Discrimination
against Women, and Supporting People of Determination, in the presence of Dr. Jean-Henri
Hanna, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Naguib
Al-Sheikh, Vice President of the University for Training and Industry Affairs, and Dr. Ali Abdel
Tawab, Dean of the Egyptian-Korean College of Industrial and Energy Technology, Prof.
Mustafa Hassan Metwally, Secretary General of the University, and members of the
.committee
During the meeting, the university president discussed the proposal submitted regarding
implementing a mobile phone maintenance course three days a week, through which female
graduates will obtain a certificate for completing the training course from Qudra Company for
Development and Technological Solutions for Education, approved by the Ministry of Labor.
This activity comes within the framework of the joint regional program between UN Women
Egypt, the International Labor Organization “Promoting Productive Employment and Decent
Work for Women in Egypt, Jordan and Palestine” and the UN Women Program “Economic
Empowerment of Women in Egypt.” These programs are implemented in partnership with
the Ministry of International Cooperation, the Egyptian Ministry of Manpower, the Egyptian
Ministry of Labor and the National Council for Women, with support from the Swedish
International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) – Styrelsen för Internationellt
Utvecklingssamarbete and the Embassy of Sweden in Cairo – Embassy Sweden in Cairo
.and the Korean International Cooperation Agency KOICA Egypt Office
Dr. Khadr also reviewed several proposals for holding a symposium entitled “Women are a
force for change in society” in cooperation with the National Council for Women to present
the role of women in bringing about change within society and their influential role inside and
outside the home, and another proposal for holding a clothing exhibition for students who are
unable to do so, in cooperation with the Egyptian Workers’ Association to help… Students
who are unable to do so at the beginning of the new academic year and to alleviate the
burden on the students’ families, in addition to the proposal to hold an exhibition (We are all
one) through the efforts of the Equal Opportunities Committee team to display everything
that exceeds the family’s needs in nominal amounts, where the profits will be directed to help
.humanitarian cases
It is worth noting that the Committee for Equal Opportunities, Combating Discrimination
against Women, and Supporting People with Abilities aims to empower women, preserve
their rights, confront and eliminate forms of discrimination against women within the
university, remove its effects, whether economic, social, or psychological, and support
people of determination, protect their rights, and integrate them into the university
community. Within the university, spreading awareness and culture and consolidating the
values of equality, equal opportunities and non-discrimination in this field
