Under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Mahmoud Khedr and in the presence of Dr. Jean Henry Hanna Toma, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Naguib El-Sheikh, Vice President for Training and Industry, and Dr. Ali Abdel-Tawab, Dean of the Egyptian Korean Faculty of Technological Industry and Energy, and a number of council members, the Beni-Suef Technological University Council held its meeting.
Dr. Mohamed Khedr began the council by thanking the faculty members, their assistants, and the university staff for their efforts to enhance the educational process. The council reviewed the latest developments and updates regarding cooperation with the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) to obtain a new grant worth $8 million over four years. The university’s future plan was also reviewed, which includes expanding study programs and constructing new buildings, as part of the university’s expansion plan to provide opportunities for as many students as possible, in addition to discussing the university’s needs for study labs, workshops, and technological equipment to provide a learning environment that suits students and meets market requirements.
The council also discussed the need to hire new faculty and staff members from various specialties to meet the needs of study programs and contribute to developing the educational process, as well as approving a cooperation protocol with the Military Technical College.
During the meeting, several files were discussed, including approving the training plan for the second semester of different university programs and enrolling students in the health insurance system and medical examination for new students. The council also discussed working on developing women’s skills in cooperation with the National Council for Women to implement activities and initiatives to raise the level of female students at the university, in addition to discussing the United Nations program to empower women and the possibility of the university benefiting from and contributing to it in cooperation with KOICA and the United Nations Women’s Agency.
